Are Religion, God and Spirituality Good? Yes!

A spiritual scene from Ko Phangan, Thailand

It’s funny (strange) how religion and God got such a bad rap over the years. My perspective is clearly that the control freaks and dacoits in power have done a very good hit job on them both.

As they do on anything that’s good, beautiful and/or truthful.

And ‘God’ is, let’s remember, just a three-letter word. For me ‘God’ symbolises that part of the experience of being human which we cannot know with certainty. For ‘God’ to exist requires us to put our faith in ‘his’ existence.

And in this act of us resorting to faith, we acknowledge we don’t actually ‘know’ what or who God is. I think we can feel it, but we can’t know it in the way we use logic, science or maths to know things.

It goes completely against the ego, which is obsessed with knowing, and hates faith. So, to allow God into our life we have to open up our soul, open up our heart, open up our consciousness to the whole cosmic enterprise we call the ‘universe’. For me THIS is what God is: consciousness, my beating heart, my soul, my aliveness.

It puts me in God, and puts God in me.

Not definitively knowing who or what God is, and needing to embrace faith in God’s existence, also, brilliantly, allows me to not know things and not care two hoots about not knowing something. I don’t have to pretend, kid myself, worry what others think, lie, protect my reputation (I don’t have one, don’t want one), or any of that nonsense. It is the grand liberation of the human being, and allows our essence to flow!

Yes, I like to know, but I also like to file stuff away in my mind as ‘not sure’, or ‘not yet knowable’.

What is religion?

Is its key tenet not telling us to ‘do no harm’??

Is that not the single best piece of advice to a human being who, when triggered by certain things, will indeed do harm to others or themselves? By making it our conscious intention, we can guard against such triggered impulses.

No wonder those in power wanted to ruin God and religion for us, because every single waking day they are doing harm.

And then when spirituality is mentioned, in many people this triggers religion, and so poor old spirituality gets a bad rap too!!

For me spirituality is like a one-man, one-woman religion, where living spiritually means living holistically and with the daily objective of living in harmony: in harmony within myself, with you, and with the whole web of life. This is the complete and total antithesis of politics, which is all about greed and selfishness and sickness in the head and heart.

That politics dominates over religion is madness personified. This has become super clear since 2020, and it can hardly be coincidence that this insanity broke out in the year 2020, for ‘2020’ means ‘clear vision’. Those in power bent over backwards to out-tyranny even their usual tyrannical ways.

And they’ve not stopped yet. They will keep going either until they crush us or crush themselves.

I said it in March 2020 as it was all breaking out, words like ‘social distancing’, ‘lockdown’, ‘quarantine’, ‘masking’ were an outright affront to the sanctity of humanity. This illustrates the extreme hatchet job politics has done on religion and God and spiritual living.

We have yet to learn this lesson. But religion, and living spiritually, harmoniously, will teach us when we are ready to learn.

Religion as it truly is, God, spirituality, soulful living, all of them are the ultimate guide for us human beings to live as harm-free a life as possible.

And the vehicle for realising and learning who we actually are, as individuals and as interconnected human beings.

If we live by the credo, ’Cause no harm, accept no shit’, we could not possibly live more optimally. That is the message of religion and spirituality, is encapsulated symbolically by God, and is stamped on and crushed by the jackboot of the miserable ideologues and control freaks who seek to bend us all to their cowardly will by taking the force of the state to try and turn us into a version of their own twisted enslaved selves.

They have no soul, no God, no religion, no heart, no spirituality, and they don’t want us to have them. That’s why they have come up with 100,000s of laws, rules, edicts, mandates, statutes, orders. Yes, that’s the correct number of zeros.

I love religion, I love spirituality, I love God, I love life, I love heart, I love soul, I love ego, I love it all.

In that love is my only possible divine protection I can have in life as a human being who wishes to live with my human essence and humanness activated and uppermost in my experience of this journey that God/Universe has put me on. I don’t need 100,000s of laws and rules from stupid killjoy anti-fun anti-health idiots who sit at desks all their life writing them, I can happily go by just one, the religious and spiritual one:

cause no harm.

Or even the law of nature:

you reap what you sow, and what you sow you will reap, whether you know it or not.

So, better to know it and take a semblance of control over your life.

Hah, that word ‘know’… Or did I mean ‘have faith’…?
